Those agencies had all the info they needed to prevent 9/11, I seem to recall an agent out of Arizona filing a report that was ignored and a private citizen in Minnesota, I think, reporting to the FBI, Middle Easterns in flight school asking about commercial airliners. So in my opinion it wasn't lack of info or access to it, it was incompetence. Giving the government more power isn't going to solve the problem. Running our public agencies competently, maybe even putting people in charge who are competent instead of political payback would do a lot more, than giving people already proven incompetent, more power to further demonstrate their ineptitude . . .
