I thought Baerwald had previously posted something along the lines of "the only way a serious debate can be held is by respecting the potential credibility of the other guys argument"? Now many might disagree with what I've said (it's up to them) but I've not actually come out and insulted people for holding their beliefs.
On the subject of `ridiculous drivel` people know what dynamic I'm refering to when I speak of "Marty, Barbara and Alec". Since you've not pulled your punches, what I mean is, I dislike no-brained minor-celebrities who pretend to speak for the `everyman`. If they really are out to help the `oppressed` why don't they just pump the money in and shut the f*** up? On the left, there's Chomsky and Vidal to provide the brains, Baerwald to provide the conscience and Michaal Moore to provide the face. Who needs some hasbeen on Leno or Letterman lambasting the government whilst spending the rest of his days sitting on his derschowitz out in sunny LA? I don't care if there leftist conscience gnaws at them for being in a job that has a ludicrous wage for no work and little meaning.
As to saving the world, keep trying. They've been railing against capitalism in Berlin, Paris and London for 30 years and they're still in the same place. The people who told us "All you need is love" became our bank managers. If you think communism has any redemption, could I recommend a short vacation across Eastern Europe....that will soon get that out of your system.
Abandon all hope and don't rock the boat, we'll all make a few hundred grand.
