I'm nearly positive that David's post was not meant as a personal attack on anyone. The point (which was made quite eloquently, in my opinion) is that no matter what your opinion might happen to be, posting vindictive notes that don't directly address the issue at hand is an effective way of provoking and and insulting people, but is basically destructive behavior. How one could think that David is only interested in stopping this destructive behavior if it is put forth by "rightist" folks is beyond my comprehension. And then to criticize and practically attack David for trying to squelch this destructiveness on a message board established in homage to his work, well I think that's just rude and insensitive.
I don't want to argue about arguing, but I really just felt the need to say something.
