Point is they don't have the coordinates to avoid civilian casualties. If Hamas is using a School or a Mosque to fire mortars, then any retaliatory fire is inevitably going to hit that School or Mosque. Hamas is embedded in areas of high population density, and they want to keep it that way, for the human "shield" factor. Apparently, their strategy is working, since many people like yourself are outraged with Israel.

If the US Army, while patrolling Iraq, is fired upon from a Mosque or a School, do they hold fire, or do they fire back to defend themselves?
