I wouldn't ever be surprised when someone from a rural area (especially Alaska) is an NRA member. Had you grown up there or in Idaho, you probably would be too.I understand how anyone who TRULY BELIEVES that life by definition begins at conception can arrive at the pro-Life position. Legislating what is essentially a religious belief is another matter. In fairness, pro-Choice voters should look at Palin's limited record. But the only reason to elect a ticket with a relatively inexperienced Republican at this point in time would be if that person had a reputation as a strong fiscal manager with a no B.S. history of prudent decision-making. She cannot hold up to that test.So far, from Obama, I've heard mainly prudent discussion of fiscal policy. On the other hand, he has (particularly earlier in the campaign) promised a lot with health care and other issues that cannot be paid for with the limited tax increases he has discussed. Should he win, I think his left wing supporters might actually be more disappointed than the middle. That's as it should be . . .
