There's lots of other stuff I'd like to recommend(I'm just learning too) but definitely grab FedCo's catalog's in PDF. Why, because it's a great resource but more specific to the drawbacks of your growing situation David, it's a searchable resource. So search it for likes "shade", "cool conditions" or "morning light" or whatever you come across in FedCo's terminlolgy that works for your conditions.

It's not the end all and be all resource, but it's a damn site better than constantly flipping through seed catalogs for that sort of information.
