complete assimilation and legality of past immigrants is a myth and another example of the asinine "good old days" syndrome. Actually study American history and you'll find that many immigrants: Irish, Italian, Chinese, Mexican, Russian, Hmong, etc. tend to congregate together for safety and comfort in a strange place, or they are forced together due to racist American policies. First generation immigrants typically have a difficult time assimilating, second generation almost complete assimilation, but tend to be torn between their parent's "world" and American culture, third generation completion assimilation. Laying the blame on Mexicans makes for an easy scapegoat, but does nothing to resolve the actual issues, but typically Pat, your world is black and white with very little room for differences of opinion (at least the part of your world you share with the board)
