Ive met some citizens in my life, people who are active, passionate participants in our society. People who work harder than anyone else I've ever met, people who raise their children, and sometimes their grandchildren, to be better people, and better Americans, than I could ever be. Some of them are people who came here illegally. One of them fled the Salvadoran war, having lost a husband to the killing. They all share a deep gratitude to this country for saving their lives. I'm not even going to get into our culpability in inflaming the wars that caused them to have to flee their homes in the first place.

This PR war that's being waged against Latinos is a disgusting bit of base-baiting hypocrisy, and even you should be ashamed of yourself, Pat.

If you want to look at what's sucking the guts out of this country, look at this-- In 1976 the share of our taxes that were paid by corporations was about 28%. Now it's about 7.5%, the result of years of back room lobbying, bribes, and undue influence.

But of course it's much easier to attack the poor, the refugee, the struggling, the people of different colored skin. So that's what you do, and it's utterly contemptible.
