I just re-read your original post, as I didn't perceive it as a temper tantrum when I read it the first time - and still don't. It was honest and forthright (as you always are) and a little unsettling.

It must be difficult having us all here clamouring for new music. It's obvious from your post that you are exceptionally busy with a plethora of musical projects - wonderful! It's also plain that you have very high expectations of your work, and don't want to release things that don't meet them.

On an infinitely smaller scale, I can relate to that. When I produce a drawing and people are praising it, all I see are the faults - the slight imperfections. I guess musicians are the same when they listen to their recorded pieces. No-one likes hearing their voice on a tape recorder (is that really me?)... Yet as the listener, it sounds perfect to me, and brings me great pleasure.

I'm currently listening to the latest Ric Ocasek release "Nexterday"  (over and over...). Gives me that Cars vibe that I love so much. Makes me reminisce about my youth (which is long gone), but in a positive way. I'm much more content now than I ever was back then.

Listening to your music (especially "Boomtown" and "Bedtime Stories") also takes me back in time. The soundscapes and the wonderfully descriptive lyrics - you are a great observer of people and their foibles. Unfortunately, one of these is selfishness - an insatiable appetite for self-gratification. We want more, more more!

So, from me - sorry! I certainly didn't intend to place any pressure on you - hadn't even considered that I might be...

Have a great festive season.
