Please don't apologise! I wasn't upset, just surprised, that you'd think we lived in the desert (or the outback for that matter). We actually live right on the coast in a cool temperate climatic zone. We have around 800 mm of rain each year and the third tallest eucalypts (gum trees) grow around here. The main industries (apart from tourism) are beef and dairy farming, horticulture, viticulture and more recently silviculture (I never want to see another blue gum...).

The reason we have so many snakes is because of the wetness rather than aridity. Snakes love to eat frogs and we have wetlands on the farm with oodles of frogs...

Here endeth the social studies lesson! And I still hate guns...
