Here are a couple of tips to maximize your enjoyment while perusing the DBis message board.1. I admit it…I use dial-up. As the dial-uppers among us know, this board sometimes takes a while to load up. One way to cut down on this load time is to use the ‘open in a new window’ feature. With ms explorer – right click on the message you want to read and select ‘open in a new window’ (most other browsers have a similar feature). When you’re finished reading the post (and any replies to that post), simply close that window and you’re instantly back to main board index…no need reloading it each and every time. This trick will save you tons of time – trust me.2. The second tip is to dump ms explorer – or at least experiment with another browser. Now this tip is mostly for the windoze crowd. Explorer is fine and even netscape is ok – but you should really try a browser called Opera. You can find it at http://www.opera.com. One thing this browser does that speeds up the loading of the board is that it doesn’t wait for the whole board to load before showing it to you. It’s hard to explain w/o seeing it, but the board just sort of loads right down the page as it downloads. Like I said – you have to see it to understand. This way of loading pages also speeds up the viewing of other pages – and not just this board. For the customizing freaks out there – Opera is highly tweakable too!Anyone else have any tips to share (and buying a mac doesn’t count….)Dan
