First, thanks for responding. I figured when I asked the question that I did it would be an invitation to a fistfight and it was really not my intention to get you guys beat up. What I'm shooting for here is understanding.
I don't believe that they all hate America but I do believe that they hate things like:
It was good to hear that you too don't believe all liberals hate America. My question on your opening statement is this:
You don't believe that all liberals hate America. Are you saying you do believe all liberals hate the the things you listed? As an example all liberals hate patriotism and religion.
1. Patriotism - carrying flags singing songs is somthing I feel sickens them. Have you ever seen right wingers desecrate the flag??
I'm not sure I understand this comment. I don't know any liberal or conservative that is sickened by our flag or our "patriotic songs". Do you mean when someone burns a flag as a protest when you say "desecrate the flag"? What leads you to believe these things "sicken" liberals?
2. Taking God out of the equation - The country was built on Judeo Christian priciples
Do you believe that the founding fathers meant to make sure all future generations of Americans were either Jewish or Christian?
Or that they meant to make sure that only Jews or Christians could determine what is condsidered "American Values"?
Or do you believe that they meant to offer complete religious freedom and equality for all and leave it to the individual to determine what they value?
we have the ACLU (Anti Christial League United) striking at every turn. Where the ACLU strikes moral decay will follow. I feel like this group is trying to tear down the building blocks that made this country great
Who do you believe the ACLU represents and what do you think they stand for?
Do you believe we should disband the ACLU or get them to focus on issues such as the American Patriot Act parts I & II?
In other words do you believe an organization that defends our civil liberties is useful to creating a better America?
3. Personal attacks when all else fails - I see this over and over again.
This is one of the reasons I tried to get this conversation started. Both sides seem to find the personal attack easier and more useful than addrssing the issues.
If you have the naive 9 (The DEM candidates) throw in a Kennedy all calling the president a liar continually how do you think rest of the world see's us.
I know that the rest of the world doesn't really see our government in a positive light.
Do you think Bush and his administration or the 9 potential Democrats running for president make us look worse in the eyes of the world?
Why do you think so many people (not just the Democrats) have said the Bush administration has not been honest with the American people and the world? Not all of the folks that say this tie their statements to political ambitions.
Do you think Bush has been honest with the American people and the world?
I know its your inherent right to speak your mind but when you have American citizens making private trips to Iraq and bad mouthing American policy on Iraq soil you undermine America and you hurt the whole country based upon your personal belief.
Are you talking about anyone specifically here?
Do you feel that someone that does this sort of thing represents the majority of liberals and their beliefs?
Do you think people who do this kind of thing are just isolated radicals that most liberals would not agree with?
Another case in point is the Reagan movie that did not make it because of the public backlash.
...I soon found this was a total left slant after every member of the audience went on the offensive saying things like:
1. It's censorship not to let this movie run!!
Hmnnn.....preventing Slander and defamation of character is censorship??
I'm not really familiar with the specifics of the Reagan movie. Is the film fiction and did they make up whatever is in it?
If not, and the info in the film is true but portrays Reagan in a negitive light do you think that information should be buried?
Lot's of famous people are portrayed in films in ways they probably wish they were not. These films are not banned though. Do you see a difference with this Reagan movie?
What do you see as the difference between this Reagan film and Oliver Stone's "Nixon" for example?
Now there is a good chance this movie was the brainchild of Barbara Streisand who you know her husband was playing the lead part and she was on the set every day. Again we can't win so let us lash out and try to re-write history.
I don't actually know who Bab's husband is...who is he?
I digress here a bit but the point holds that crap like this undermines America
How do you believe a tv film undermines America?
If I were going to point to tv that undermines America I think there's plenty you could point out...but a movie about Reagan? What is the controversy based on? I apologize, I just never followed the story and would not have watched the movie...but you have to admit now more people will want to see it because they'll want to know what exactly is in there.
