I think we'll give it to Sunday for any more nominations / entries to the 'intro championship' - then we'll kick off the head to heads. Can't wait to see everyone's picks in action.
hearing 'Owner of a Lonely Heart' by Yes being played on a CD player for the first time.
I bought both the player and the disc.
Owner came out in 1983. If you were hearing it then and bought the player at the same time - that must have been a very expensive impulse buy! That is a great intro for sure. It got me to the 'Owner' wiki page (it has its own!). Interesting story for sure. I might change my entry to this one....
My first CD was three - U2 - Rattle and Hum, Jethro Tull - Original Masters, and Steely Dan - A Decade of Steely Dan. I think odd choices for a 16 year old. But man...some good ones! That Dan disc is still getting playbacks to this day.
