Well...watching ICE running around reminded me of Northern Ireland in the 60's/70's/80's. State sanctioned terrorism became the norm and internment was widely used to suppress Republican protest. It got bloody, messy...traumatising...and all the while the British Government looked the other way and let the Army shoot to kill. Not quite the same but we became cynical and wary of their double standards. I think Biden's spinelessness in the face of Israeli genocide unnerved me because he has basically endorsed extreme violence as an acceptable Democratic norm.
