If you recognize those four words, and I assume the discriminating patrons here do, then you'll know it was half a century ago that Born to Run was released. I'll wager that it had more than a little effect on your younger selves. It sure walloped me with a cinematic sense of freedom, and escape, and possibilities of a wider world to be explored. And it had the swinging for the fences operatic sweep, a kitchen sink's worth of Americana mythologizing, and the little details, like the "screen door" and the instant recognition of the socioeconomics of the characters. Bruce was 26 when at last, he tamed his perfectionist demons and unleashed it on a public that had no idea of the adventures that it would let you explore. Raise a toast!
