16 Horsepower opening for The Innocence Mission
: (Scottsdale,1995)What a trip this show was. It was a riot watching 16 Horsepower scare the living shit out of all the Christians and Lesbians at the show! I immediately went out and bought all of their CD's at the time.
Irish,
You're now one of four people that I have met that actually know who 16 HP are. (two of them are in my band) My band covers coal black horses...we used to play it just like on the record but we jammed with a reggae rhythm section recently and that's how we recorded it for our demo. You'll get a kick out of it when I get the webpage up. There's a funny backstory about the vocal track on it too which you might find interesting.
Have you heard the new record? Pretty damn cool...but it's a very different sound than say Sackcloth and Ashes. Got mine sent to me from Glitterhouse Records.
So they scare christians, huh? Very cool. They're touring this year...the only American Date is next week in Denver at the Bluebird, I think. I'd love to go but I just don't have time next tuesday to drive to Denver and be back for work the next day.
Really...now you've got it from two of your board bretheren! Get this band's recordings. They are WONDERFUL!!!
