I can't really say that David's music had that sort of life altering effect on any portion of my life. I do agree though that "Boomtown" was one of the finest records of the 80's and probably the finest rock album of that period. I thought the 80's were a horrible time for rock 'n' roll amoung other things. Someone once described the music of that time as being plagued with "80's Wank". I always took that to mean the horrible effects (guitar, vocal, etc.) and synth sounds that appear on so much of what was produced back then. Needless to say it's a period I'm not nostalgic for.
