: : Paddy Chayefsky was a man. So I believe you meant who was he. He was a writer probably best known for writing "Network" for which he won an Academy award for the screenplay. He also wrote a variety of other things as well. He wrote "The Hospital" and "Altered States" which you can also find at your local video store I'm sure. I think if you watch those three films you'd get a pretty good idea what sort of writer he was. I'm not sure if David has a favorite piece of work by Mr. Chayefsky but he did make mention some time back, I believe, of an evening spent playing pool with the man that seemed to have left him with some lasting impression. There's a start for you anyway.

Actually Patty and Paddy were brother and sister and David murdered Patty whilst reading Paddy...I think...or was it that he read that Paddy had murdered Patty...as they were half brother and sister...born from the same hyena who coupled with a G.I....but I won't go into that
