I don't know how many of you out there are familiar with DB's contemporaries. If you're interested in anyone else from The Tuesday Night Music Club, then you must check out "Thud" by Kevin Gilbert. We lost Kevin in 1996, I believe. Even so, another reportedly fantastic album: "The Shaming of the True" has come out posthumously.
Personally, I found myself just as compelled by Kevin's work on Thud as I have by David's work, and that's saying something. He has a political and humourous bite to his lyrics too. And "Song for a Dead Friend" is one of the most moving songs I've ever heard.
I know that Kevin is also credited on DB's "Triage". I don't know how David feels about Kevin or his work. Maybe he'd like to comment...?
So there it is if you didn't already know--check out THUD.
