Listen, folks, this was NOT a close election where it matters.  People need to realize this - it was not close; nor, in a humane and truly democratic based country should it have been.  And it really wasn't when you throw everything into the mix.  Frankly, in a way, it was a Republican blow-out and thinking otherwise is just plain delusional.

In a normal cycle, the Democrat should have won HUGE and did not.  We should have swept them all and easily so, but did not.  Hell, this election was like watching a Randall Tex Cobb boxing match where he is pummelled for 15 rounds (hm, this shows my age, eh?), losing every round in the mix, and at the last second, gets in a knock-out-blow thirty seconds before the fight ends.

Last, this poll on Genocide and voters staying home - this also bears some thought because let's be honest here about the meaning of the word "genocide" and how its basic meaning is not at all what is going on in the Middle East.  Yes, it is horrible, but it is not genocide (fucking genocide is what our ancestors tried to do to the Indigenous of this continent). If anything, it is a sociopathic endeavour of collateral damage of not giving a shit who is killed or injured.  That the killing of innocents is a by-product of the leaders of Israel defending their country by any means necessary.  Again, I am not trying to lessen the horror of what is happening, but "genocide" is not the proper word to describe it.

But here is my larger point -  what if the delivery of news and information to younger people is something that has not been taken into account by those of us more familiar with other news and information methods and to these young people, what is going on over there is defined by their interpretation of "genocide."

I mean, how the fuck can you decipher anything complex in the age of Twitter, TikTok and smartphones?  And sadly, nuance, context and intent, is sadly missing in younger generations and their ability to detect such things (I mean, shit, I am the sole male in a household of young women and the shit I can no longer say and how often I have to explain "context and intent" to my youngest is out of this world for an aging baby-boomer).

And what if, this sort of news and information delivery is how these younger people will obtain their news and information from now on and if so, these methods may not be the best for a broader-based American belief system.

To better illustrate, take MAGA's use of phrases like "Don't Tread on Me" or their definition of "liberty" and what it means to them in today's terms  (the self) rather than when they were originally uttered (the public life).

Lastly, if these non-voters due to genocide by Biden was their reason to not vote, then wow, are they in for a world of surprise thinking the orange buffoon is going to do better.
