Icon The Boogieman

Good Sir,
I don't know if Yoko knows me but I can say I've never met her. I was unaware of my name having any connection to John Lennon. I am her and she is me and we are all together. Sorry, slipping off there for a moment I was. This little moniker was actually bestowed upon me by one Dr. Wahoo Capybara. You see, I'm a drummer and initially that's why he gave me the name, I think. He just immeadiatly began introducing me as Winston T. Boogie and it stuck. I was in his band "Dr. Wahoo Capybara's Tripped Right, All Nite, Travelling Rythem And Soul Revue" and I suppose just saying something like "This is Bob the drummer" would have been a bit boring and out of place in an outfit like that. Later though, after being involved with Wahoo for a while I think my name took on a few different meanings.

Capybara is a strange and magnetic individual and tends to find himself in some bizarre situations with some fairly interesting characters. He has a tendency to get people all worked up, including me, and my sometimes frightening behavior gave him cause to quip "There's more than one reason we call that boy The Boogieman."

Well, I could tell Doc Wahoo stories for months on end but I'll leave it at that for now. I do want to take credit for one thing though. It was I turned Doc onto David Baerwald's music. I brought him the "Triage" disc when he was living in Paris and it actually caused him to return to the States for a while.

From Across the Universe,
Winston
