What is this obsession with Jesse Jackson? Do you see anyone harping on Newt Gingrich's bombast and insincerity and divisiveness?
That is truly an amazing sentence. It's like one of those mock mazes that have no solution, or a map drawn
in five dimensions.
Noam Chomsky has long and uninterrupted experience with federal harrassment.
I think it's probably safe to say that there is a large degree of animosity between both sets of old boys at this particular time.
Again, the maze-like nature of your sentences leaves their meaning a bit unclear, though ultimately I sort of get the drift. You're suggesting that if Linda Chavez was a proponent of social services and health-care that possibly the confirmation committees would have left her alone, and targeted Cheney
(who as vice-president doesnt need confirmation anyway) instead. You're also suggesting that Linda Chavez was, by paying this woman 38 dollars a week (plus room and board) helping her to bootstrap her way into the American Dream. And you're suggesting that this stance is a threat to the Democratic
Party's platforms.
Again, aside from the messiness of your assumptions, you're confusing ideology with politics. The Democrats are pissed off, and they'll seize at anything to mess with Bush Jr, just as the Republicans were pissed off, and seized at anything to mess with Clinton. It's a big messy sandbox, and the children are ripping the toys out of each other's hands however they can. And will most likely continue to do so, except in the instances where they both stand to make a pile of money. Like Strategic Missile Defense, for instance, or energy policy.
