Several years ago I was working as a hospice social worker in Seattle. One of the people I worked with was a thirteen- year old young man who was dying of cardiac problems related to Muscular Dystrophy. He was a huge Metallica fan.
His hospice nurse managed to get in touch with Metallica (Lars Ulrich has family here)and they not only sent him copies of all their CD's (and a lot of other stuff) but invited him and his best friend back stage at their Seattle concert. They treated him with the utmost kindness. He never stopped talking about it.
Sounds like you're in good hands David! Best to you.
