...that the FBI background checks were going to happen on Trump's picks. I may have hallucinated that but I swear someone said Trump had been convinced to allow them to weed out the problems. He supposedly wanted no background check or only ones he did himself through outside companies, which translates to, no background check at all because then he sets the parameters of what they would check for.
He also wanted no confirmation hearings because his candidates all have whopping problems that would have to be discussed.
I've heard Hegseth is out, been off the table a couple days behind the scenes while they discuss who to replace him with and that Trump has been told the Senate will not confirm RFK Jr., which makes sense. The Senate appears to want to replace Hegseth with Joni Ernst and have told Trump she will fly through confirmation.
Trump, I guess, wanted to make that idiot DeSantis the replacement for Hegseth, weird, but not a surprise. Maybe he just wants DeSantis out of the way because he wants Lara Trump to take Rubio's vacant senate seat. Ron is said to want that for himself.
