So, I had to think about the coping skills thing. Apparently, in my little world or bubble, I help a lot of people cope. I've been completely dropped into an ocean of helping people get through their problems. In truth, as we approach election day, I'm exhausted, E. Like seriously wiped out.
What I have come to realize is, a lot of people are having problems coping. Julia, my wife, is filled with terror and anxiety by Donald Trump and his followers. She asks me, pretty much daily, to explain to her how Kamala is doing and why Trump won't win. She won't watch or read the news, because the news primarily keeps referring to this as a neck and neck horse race. She has already voted, as have most people she knows. She desperately wants this to be over on November 5, but I keep telling her not to expect that.
She also hopes that Trump goes away when he loses, but big problem there, he is not going to go away. Even if he loses in a massive landslide, he will claim he won. He's got dozens of lawsuits they are going to file in Pennsylvania alone. He is going to scream fraud even louder this time, and I know that does not even seem possible, but it is.
You see when he lost in 2020, his administration was in charge, and his people were overseeing the election, he still lost, and there was no fraud. This time, he will claim that Biden and Harris have rigged the election, because they are in office, and their administration is overseeing the election. We know there were many fools that believed with Trump's administration overseeing things the Democrats still were able to rig the election, well, now Trump has an even easier scapegoat, he will just say Biden rigged it and the fools will buy that nonsense no problem.
The goal is simple, make sure that millions of Americans have no faith in the election results. Pretend going into the election you have a massive lead and you will win easily, and then when you lose, scream fraud, file lawsuits, tell elected Republicans not to certify the election, work with Mike Johnson to try to get the election results thrown out and force Congress to have to decide it, make them have to cast the votes instead of the people to decide who will be president.
Remember, the sitting Vice President is the one that oversees the reading of the electoral college votes in the Senate, Trump's followers were prepared to hang Mike Pence to prevent him from doing so. Imagine what these nuts will be willing to do to prevent Harris from reading the results from her own victory?
This is going to be total madness, brother. I mean, expect the worst, hope for the best.
I believe based on the facts and all metrics that matter and tell us what is going to happen, Harris will win. Trump just has done one thing after another that makes it appear he is trying to lose. I know, margins in swing states are what everybody is worried about, but it looks like Harris is going to come out on top.
I hope her victory is huge but if it is, Trump and the sick people on his side will claim that is evidence of fraud.
Sadly, there is no safe path forward because Trump and his army of vile scum have mined them all. We will see lawsuits fly, there is supposedly an army of 200,000 Trump nuts that will be attacking polling stations in swing states, they are already blowing up drop boxes, there will be record voter suppression attempts in Republican run states, all the stops will be pulled out.
Trump knows he is likely to lose, and his best hope is it is a close race. The media has fully cooperated repeating over and over this is close, that fits the false narrative he wants to create. If it is close, that helps him when he challenges the results in the swing states with the hundreds of lawsuits they have prepped. As I said though, if Kamala wins huge, he will say that is the evidence that it was rigged.
So, he has covered his bases. If I lose close, I won. If I lose huge, then I really won huge and the proof is the size of my loss. If I win, well, I told you I would win.
This is what we face.
How do I cope? I try to look at the facts and what they indicate. I ignore the polling talk for the most part. I think being buried in other people's problems has helped me not focus on the election. It's always there though, everybody talks about it, everybody is on pins and needles waiting for the results.
So, good news, I think Kamala wins. Bad news, that will not be the end of Trump and that is when he attempts to start a war with whatever idiots will listen to him
Word is Trump has already told people in the Republican party he's not going anywhere, if he loses he intends to be their candidate in 2028. He seems in such poor health now though that I doubt he is going to be able to run in 2028. He's already too physically and mentally impaired and declining fast.
