Kamala Harris really raised the roof off of the  Georgia State University Convocation Center in Atlanta on Tuesday evening. I'm just kidding, I know you heard about it because it was all over the news! I was lucky enough to get an invitation to go and to get an "up front seat". The only problem was there was no chair, if I wanted to sit, I had to sit on the floor, which I did several times over the 3 1/2 hours I was there. It was so so worth it though! Stacey Abrams kicked off the party. She's an uplifting speaker and got the crowd going, then Mayor Andre Dickens spoke. He's in favor of the Cop City project but I don't know that many people there knew about that. After that we were treated to the Dynamic Duo, the Brothers from Different Mothers, Senator Jon Ossoff and Senator Rev. Raphael Warnock. They kept the party going so that when Meghan the Stallion came out next, she could kick it into overdrive! Now over all of this time, I'm standing up, sitting down, moving to the side of the space, sitting down, standing up, moving back to the middle, moving back to the side, going to sit down. when someone standing right up front where people entered and exited the stage area asked if I wanted to get up front because I'm so short. Well, I couldn't turn down that offer now could I? There was a dj spinning all genres of music. You may have seen a video on TikTok or Instagram of a young spindly guy REALLY getting into the music. He was standing right across from where I ended up but I couldn't see him because he was at an odd angle back behind the entrance curtain.  So, back to the event, Quavo, formerly of Migos, came out to speak on his approval of VP Harris' stance on gun control which lead him to endorse her. Then Morehouse graduate and entrepreneur Tyler Greene finally introduced Kamala Harris, the next President of the United States! Everyone was stoked as she spoke and left us with zingers like "We won't go back!" and "If you have something to say, say it to my face!" and "When we fight, we WIN!!!" Then it was time to work the rope. Since this was the 5th campaign event I've been to this year with either POTUS, VPOTUS, FLOTUS, or SGOTUS, I know the drill now and knew that working the rope meant shaking all the hands of the people standing in front. I was now in the front because that person had given me a spot in front. That means I GOT TO SHAKE THE HAND OF THE FIRST FEMALE, FIRST AAPI, NEXT PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES! What a spectacularly exciting experience Tuesday night was! To see 10,000 people in that arena and to hear them yelling (kind of) in unison KA-MA-LA! KA-MA-LA! Well, this was an experience I won't soon forget or at least I hope I won't! So going from despair 9 days before when Biden dropped out and being afraid of what would happen, to feeling complete elation with our new candidate and the hope she inspires, plus loving the new tactic of putting MAGA on the defensive by FINALLY calling them what they are: WEIRD. We still need to get out and do the work of course, but boy am I feeling more positive that we can do this!

(I'd add a couple of pictures and /or videos put I don't know how to do that on here. I tried it but wasn't successful...)
