Really, the reaction to Noem's treatment of a dog and goat suggests something about this country, but I'm not sure if it is good or bad.

Just before it was revealed Noem shot her non-conforming potential hunting dog, and that she also killed a goat, Noem was asked about an exception for abortion regarding rape and incest, and her reply, paraphrased, was why turn one tragedy into another by aborting a fetus resulting from a sexual assault or incest. 

Now, contrast the public reactions to the two incidents - how is it and what does it mean, that the killing of a dog and goat received more worldwide attention than her reply about women and abortion?
