So, yes, I love Karl's music and World Party. I met him a couple of times. Excellent guy and had a wonderful sense of humor. He had some severe health problems in the past, he survived an aneurysm in the early 2000s and had to completely relearn how to play guitar. He was always working on new music. Dan and I were up in Woodstock when he passed, on Sunday, March 10th. I did not find out until a couple of days later.

I honestly thought he had a new record coming out soon because I think that was one of the last things I read about him a while back. So, I was shocked when I heard this news. He looked and seemed great the last time I saw him, which I can tell you was on May 14th, 2015...so almost a decade ago. That was the last tour he did and he passed through Boston.

He will be greatly missed. He was another guy, like many of us here, that was a secular humanist and very much let you know. I appreciated that about him. Others did not but isn't that the way it always is.

He enjoyed Betrand Russell and so, I will post this quote from Mr. Russell here:

The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, and wiser people so full of doubts.

Here's to you, Karl, may you wander the universe now in peace.
