OK, so I remembered David told a story about meeting Bob Dylan and in the story Bob says he has not written a song in 20 years, that his songs all come out of the box. I thought this was funny and when David tells the story he imagines Dylan means a box full of scraps of paper. I think I joked at the time about Bob putting scraps of paper in cereal boxes but I also in the moment wondered if Dylan meant the TV, that being as famous as he was a lot of his interaction with the world now came through the television. I recalled a story about Bob watching a lot of TV on his tour bus, which also turns out to be true. Anyway, check this out, here's David telling the Dylan story:

Then this video popped up today and here is Larry Charles revealing Bob Dylan does have an "ornate box" he keeps scraps of paper in and pulls them out to put together a song!

So, it is true, the songs come out of his box.
