Being forced to be present while the Grammys are on against my will with my greatest enjoyment being that of watching the excitement of our oldest and youngest daughter.  However, I did get goosebumps when Tracy Chapman and some country dude did a duet of her song Fast Car.  One of my girls seemed to think it was a newer song until I told her it was a big hit from the late 80s. It was also so strange seeing Tracy Chapman with gray hair.  Lastly, in watching this show it has occurred to me how all the most popular music award shows have largely moved to an era of rewarding a theatrical performance rather than excellence in sound and song creation. I mean, physically, it is too irritating for me to listen to all of the noise that too many claim is music these days. 

Had to edit and add this - my youngest is going wild over Swift's secret announcement she has a new album coming out - just watching her excitement over such a thing is making me mist up.......the glory of children, eh? Not much better than that...
