There is this great scene in one of the seasons of The Wire where the two opposing political operatives are having a drink after an election and while both are discussing what is next for them, as I recall the scene, the wonderful, now deceased character actor Reg E. Cathey remarks how the only thing consistent in politics is how a candidate will always disappoint you. 

So my question is this - why is it that so many Democrats and others that are so willing to take the fire and fight right to the doorstep of these fuckers always seem to end up with feet of clay?

I mean, I can go down the list - remember Scott Ritter and the inspections for WMD? how about Anthony Weiner?  Eliot Spitzer? There are others, but now there is Fani Willis.  Yes, it is early, but already, her behavior is troubling and though I am confused over a consensual relationship between two adults and how it impacts this case, the damn hint of impropriety is enough to cause a long shadow to be cast.
