I totally get that Mick and agree with you. I think we do have events to be hopeful about, notwithstanding the fact that during the ceasefire over the weekend Israeli soldiers fired upon Palestinian civilians who I guess got too close to the demarkation line between north and south Gaza. The ceasefire has been extended now and many Palestinian prisoners are being released as well as Israeli hostages. I can't quite figure out why young Palestinians were being held prisoner but that is something that needs to be investigated. In addition, I read/heard somewhere this morning, and of course now can't remember where, that about 75% of Israelis want Bebe to step down after the crisis stage of this "event" is over AND Palestinians are ready for Hamas to be GONE. Another hopeful bit of news I thought is that Biden met with some Muslim leaders after casting doubt on the numbers of Palestinians killed at the end of October and apologized to them saying he was disappointed in himself and would do better in looking at the Palestinian plight. I believe that he, Blinken, and his administration are continuing to push Bebe and his supporters to make this ceasefire permanent and then perhaps the Israelis can hasten his exit from office once and for all. If that happens, I only hope that they don't elect another Bebe, but instead a liberal who will really work toward a 2 state solution so that the Middle East can see peace. BUT that also means we need to make sure trump OR another republican DOESN'T GET into the White House in 2025 or else all bets are off and we are in dire straights.
