I am so sick and tired of hearing about Biden's age - and believe me, this includes all pols and their ages. I find it utterly disgusting and disrespectful and hope that all these reporters, pundits, and others will be forced to pivot away from the "gotcha" drive to catch an elderly person's trip or stammer for our viewing excitement.
But I doubt that is going to happen.
On other notes, I do not believe any of the polls showing Trump beating Biden in the swing vote states. I sincerely believe there is some sort of bad polling data collection methodology going on and some seriously improper statistical weighting. I think this is especially evident when one poll suggests Trump is getting 23% of Black male voters.
There was a poster over at DailyKos that deciphered what he/she felt were the flaws in these polls, especially the Black male one.
As for abortion being the Democratic Savior - my response is, hold on to your asses because these fucking Republicans WILL continue to try and figure out how to thread this needle and may even be successful in getting it done with improved ballot language.
Personally, I was quite happy with the results, but am still quite heavily apprehensive about the future and this is mainly because of Biden's coverage in the media. To me, it has been horrible, and as I've told a Conservative Democratic friend of mine, for what Biden has had to work with, he has done extremely wonderful in his three years but gets hardly any mainstream credit for it. Again, this observation is done with a relative examination of what Biden has had to work with - a one-seat Senate majority, two asshole Democratic Senators, and a minority in the House. (And to me, this is where one finds a sincere pundit and a partisan pundit because if anyone denies this, then they are a goddamned liar or a Republican).
Lastly, I just sat through a few hours of CNN reporting and I have to say - it fucking mostly sucked. No one talks about polling methodology while focusing on conventional wisdom like dollops of pure bullshit with little substance. Oddly, of the yappers, to me, Dana Bash has the most telling insight before polls closed and she stated from Youngkin's body language, he KNEW it was going to be a bad Republican night (all the while keeping his smiley face on throughout the interview - the great thing about what happened in Virginia is it may have stopped the "Youngkin to the rescue" conventional wisdom party line.
One more thing - the Dems need some big-time "working the ref" to go on. Off to the side, they need to start hammering these pundits and reporters with comments about, if Biden is so goddamn old and feeble and with Dementia, then how the hell does he keep kicking ass? They also need to get these fuckers to start intros when talking about Trump dealing his 91 felony charges, along with him being a serial predator and court-adjudicated sexual rapist (and then, when incorrectly corrected about the word "rape" remind these pundits and reporters that the judge, in that case, has already made it clear that trump is in fact, a rapist (see, in NY, a rape offense must include penile penetration - digital penetration is not included in the rape statute language, but for all purposes, Trump raped E. Jean Carroll).
