I'm a huge Schrader fan. I am looking forward to seeing his Master Gardener, I really liked the other two films in the trilogy, First Reformed and The Card Counter. My feeling is, he is addressing things in these pictures that are relevant to where we are today. I did not read the review in the Boston Globe but saw that the critic only gave it one star and the headline on the review was "Master Gardener is a load of raging bull." which I chalk up to Schrader not being everybody's cup of tea.

On the Killers of the Flower Moon stuff, well, this is part of the thing with some of the nuts on the right. They don't want anybody to acknowledge that some bad things were done in the history of this country. I kind of expect that when the film comes out it will get a bunch of backlash from the right because it does not paint a nice picture of the people that killed the Osage to take their oil.

This has nothing to do with "woke" but this is how the right uses the word, just to paint whatever they don't like as bad. It's amazing to me that more people are upset with whatever they label "woke" than what is truly a problem in the world.

As a bonus, here's a podcast with Paul Schrader, Joe Dante, and Josh Olsen...
