...but, and I hate saying this, our institutions just barely held. And worse than that there are loopholes that Republicans want to make bigger to allow state legislators the leeway to chose who their state backs for president no matter how people vote and at least 4 Supreme Court Justices that appear to favor exploiting them to allow that to happen. This is the real reason Mitch and his boys wanted to pack the courts not the abortion stuff people go nuts about.
In a lot of ways we are walking a razor wire right now and the Republican party is trying to push us off it into full blown fascism by 2024.
If they don't prosecute the people responsible for Trump's coup attempt it is like giving these lunatic Republicans a free pass to do it again.
And they are planning on it.
