When my Dad was alive we would talk about the Cosmos all the time and he would tell me that if there was one thing he wished he could see before he died it was the answer of the Universes (yes, Universes).  Of course, he did not get that wish.  But we also talked about how some claimed if there were others out there, then certainly they would have made contact with us by now. We both agreed the answer to that was how they obviously did not take into account that to others, maybe we were like ants or some other smaller life form and why waste time trying to communicate with something that lacked the means to communicate back.

I also once told him I would love to see a more advanced life form that worshiped dirt arrive and how much fun it would be to see the reaction of people like Catholics to such a thing.
