You're so right, Peter. What better way to stop us in our tracks than to take some time to ponder what lies beyond our puny existence. I recall a sermon I listened to years ago where the pastor was talking about our planet and how miraculous it is that life exists at all and that there's no chance this could have happened anywhere else in the universe. I thought, man, you really aren't trying very hard—there are literally more than 100 billion galaxies out there, each with their own potential to spawn planets such as ours. It would seem to me there's much more of a chance that there's life beyond our planet than not. It's amazing to think we're seeing images that are reflecting a time from billions of years ago. We're literally looking back in time through Hubble's lens. Thanks for the link!
