I don't think Trump and Biden are the same and I would not say we are as damned with one as the other. Politically speaking, I don't think they are miles away from each other because Biden is, and keeps making clear, he is basically a center right politician. So, in that way I think Republicans should feel just fine voting for him. He will not be the lunatic Trump is and policy wise, well, you won't see any sort of radical shift. Biden will not be hostile to our allies the way Trump is. He won't go crazy deregulating everything as Trump does. He won't work to destroy our institutions and he won't align himself with Putin and other dictators. He will not endanger the planet on a daily basis the way Trump does.

So, we are less damned voting for Biden. I understand you not having much use for either of them BUT we will be better off, safer, and on a far better path if Biden is elected. I am going to vote for Biden...not out of any sort of love for the guy but because I believe we would be horribly screwed and would move toward the oblivion of a fascist state if Trump is reelected and that would not just screw us...it would be horrible for the world.

Biden was not my choice but honestly, these things never have much to do with what I would prefer. I think we mostly end up stuck with having to choose who we think will do the least amount of damage. Fucked, I know.
