I have three album review books by Robert Christgau (his guides to the 70s, 80s, and 90s), Dan, and his website is a way to access all of his  reviews. Generally, my musical tastes have aligned with his (early Costello, Parker, Springsteen, Belle and Sebastian, The Hold Steady, to name but a few) though I don't get his unending praise for Nirvana, Pavement, Moby, or Willie Nelson. We even share the same favorite rock and roll album (The Clash's UK debut version "The Clash"). He's big on Paul Heaton though only lukewarm on my other favorite Paul (Paul Kelly). He'll steer the reader to some music you'll no doubt cherish, and to stuff that'll leave you cold.
