Many things come to mind here, Ross. First of all, your smarts and ability to remain calm under pressure. Additionally, I so appreciate living in a society that values science and public/private sector medical innovations, and a community that sees the wisdom in funding first-rate medical responses.  I can't recall when 9-1-1 phone calls were instituted  but this may have had a different outcome in decades prior to the 70s/80s. I know we didn't have the high-tech medical devices back then. We're all in this together and that means funding education, medical research, and community infrastructure. And for my fellow Democrats, it means criticizing Bernie Sanders when he demonizes the pharmaceutical industry and medical device makers. Yes, there are undoubtedly times when gouging occurs, and corporate feet do need to be held to the fire at times, but damn, we needs these folks and they must have a profit incentive if we're to see future technological innovations. Events like this should make us appreciate how fortunate we are to live here and now. Far too many people live (and die actually) with high infant mortality, low life expectancies, filthy water, inadequate nourishment, civil wars, etc. Here's hoping progress continues and again, thanks Ross, and please send Adrian our best wishes! This was the only post that unites all factions on DBIS. May the good times continue, and, to paraphrase Warren Zevon,  enjoy every at bat!
