I'm kind of surprised at all the hype.  I'm almost wondering if people are being overly generous because they see this as sort of a farewell song for this group. 

Of course, the film looks wonderful, but it looks too wonderful and to me, the de-aging shots look a bit off and a bit too rosy.  Pacino's accent keeps fading in and out, too.  To me, he's not impressive as Hoffa.

On top of those, this is not new ground for Scorsese and he is not really breaking new ground.
