Thanks for posting that link, Peter. So, reading through it made me want to
say a couple of things that I have alluded to before.
There are some Republicans that are terrified of the Russia
investigation
and I do not at all believe this is because of what it might reveal about
Trump. The problem is it will reveal a lot about Republicans and their money
trail.
In the recent indictment of the 12 Russian military officers it also
mentioned a congressional candidate that apparently was also told to contact
and did contact Guccifer 2.0 (which was actually Russian military
intelligence) for help. It did not say who this candidate is but I'm sure
that's coming (they have the communications) and likely it is a Republican
as Putin and Russian intelligence were/are interested in assisting
Republicans.
In their effort to involve themselves with Republicans the Russians also
heavily invested (both monetarily and in terms of human contact) in the NRA
and pro gun organizations here in the United States. The NRA never spent
more money on any candidate than they did in support of Donald Trump and
they had a good deal of Russian money to spend.
The NRA is a gigantic investor in Republican candidates and Republican
candidates live in fear of the NRA...which the Russia investigation has
shown is an organization backed and heavily infiltrated by Putin's people.
Of course that video Sasha Cohen made showing that the people at the top
of
the pro gun movement are also complete morons indicates they are easier to
con than a group of three year olds...so that does not help.
So, putting this together with the fact that not only our president but
a
group of Republicans want to bend over for Putin this looks to be not just a
giant problem for Trump but a huge problem for Republicans and their most
feared backer the NRA.
As usual in these cases..."It's the money Lebowski!"
