I'm not for going back, Dan, obviously we can't, nor would I wish to. I just think that with respect to kids, we have to be far more mindful of the possible downsides that excessive exposure to new technologies (video games and portable devices) may bring. Oftentimes, we don't even know what the possible downsides are. I think this is new territory. Is the rise in the diagnosis of ADHD due to greater awareness, better educated medical professionals, or something else? Perhaps there's no cause and effect with respect to screen time, or maybe it's negligible, or nonexistent. I know, correIation doesn't mean causation. I just think that a heightened state of awareness is reasonable and the involvement of an educated parent cannot be overstated.

I don't know how long you've been practicing but have you or your more veteran colleagues seen any dramatic changes in children's behaviors or attention spans since the widespread use of portable electronic devices began?
