Andrea:I saw a documentary on the DeBEERS DIAMOND MINES AND
EXCHANGE, and they had an secret camera interview where a
spokesperson admitted that DIAMONDS are marked up as
much as 2000%, and not 500%! Percentage of mark up depends on cut, clarity, gullibility of the
purchaser, etc., etc.The REAL TRUTH is four times as bad!Also --- who buys garbage like this? People who actuually
give a shit what other people think, and/or to impress or have
a false sense of status and privilege.One time a number of years ago, a wealthy female relative of
mine showed me a ten karat diamond ring her husband
bought her. She asked me what I thought. My answer was this:"My answer of what I think about your new 10 karat diamond
ring is in two parts; first, I am sorry that your husband cheated
on you, and secondly, he's an idiot --- for that kind of money,
he should have purchased something of lasting value and
permanence, like a house, or paid for ALL of your children's
