Okay...how to delicately put this.....

Frankly, I will be very glad when all this 9/11 ten year anniversary extravaganza is over and here's why:

Except for a limited number of people (typically those with some sort of actual tie to 9/11, i.e., family members, loved ones, military members and loved ones, et cetera) 9/11 has taught the majority of Americans nothing.

It is now becoming an American commercialization by-product. An even used to sell more American products.

Let's face it, it is going be brought out, dusted off and used to make us feel good about doing what Americans do best - consume and live a life of abject ignorance.

Our reflection over 9/11 has been dismal. Our sense of truth, justice and the pursuit of things right, non-existent. We have simply put ourselves on a pedestal declaring we are the biggest victims in the world and by God, if we want to take our grief and revenge out on anyone we want, we can do it dammit because we are....Americans!

Again, I go back to the Tillman documentary. Here we have a genuine American hero. Something that really does not exist often. And over his death and what happened after his death what happened? Nothing.

Last night at the Rethuglican Debate it has been said the biggest applause came from another swaggering Texan bragging about how many people he has executed as Governor.

Well folks, let me let you all in on a little dirty secret: ANYONE with a little faith and knowledge in forensic science KNOWS one of the people he executed was FUCKING innocent! (http://www.newyorker.com/reporting/2009/09/07/090907fa_fact_grann) Not only that, this was known by forensic experts BEFORE he was executed but this pompous braggart would have none of it. In other words, who gives a fuck if a person is innocent, so long as it makes me good putting his ass to death.

And this gets me back to how American ideals are a myth in this country. We can't even tell the goddamned truth and even hide from the truth.

Wars created on lies we know are being told at the time, innocent people being put to death among cheers and a modern day Pearl Harbor used to sell American bullshit.
