And that's simply based upon musicality...forget popularity etc...

I am not talking guitar technique, here.  Jimi is/was far more musical and lyrical than EVH..always will be.

Just listen to the quiet, emotive things like "May this be love", "Angel" etc.. I could go on and on, but like Jimi said..."this here's for anyone with hearts, any kinda hearts and ears..."

So be it.   John Abercrombie, the world famous Jazz guitarist actually has a phrase that I think is very justified, ie actually classifying guitarists as "pre" and "post" Hendrix.  Yes, Jimi is as monumentous as Mozart, Coltrane, etc....He is one of the Giants.   Please, Mick...

EVH is a great musician, technical player, but even he would probably acknowledge that he has not made the musical contributions of Jimi Hendrix.
