This weekend is known for many things, mostly football, commercials, Janet Jackson's nipple (which was probably the best halftime show moment ever for a lot of reasons), parties with lots of food, and of course it's the number one weekend for wife beating and domestic violence...really, that's true.

By the end of today's game we'll have a new Super Bowl champion and a whole bunch of women that have had the snot beat out of them. I always thought they should work something about this into the commercials but due to how much money that time is worth and the fact that people don't want to think about women getting the shit kicked out of them during the big game...well...not likely to happen.

This does actually stack up as possibly the best game in Super Bowl history though. The two teams can score a lot of points, seem evenly matched, and the game could come down to the wire and maybe even go into overtime...good news for us football fans but that will be overtime for the domestic violence too. Not trying to rain on the parade, I love football, but something to think about.

Maybe if they just flashed on the screen once and a while "Enjoy the game, hug your women!" it would stem the tide of the beatings...we are a Christian nation though so maybe stoning is making a comeback...
