I also tossed the cat into a drift. Then felt bad. But she’s an outdoor animal. Has an insulated winter den beside the door that was completely buried around 2 AM the other night. …So I’m standing at the back door worried..is she dead in there or freezing ..and she pokes her little head out of the slit, nearly jumps into my hands as I reach down to pat her head. …So I bring her in and put her in the heated basement where there’s a soft pad and sandbox (usually used only when it’s colder..but what the heck).

Later that morning she’s scratching the basement door, while I measure coffee, so I open the door and she scuttles around the corner, up the stairs and under a bed. People are sleeping, dander and other airborne issues are a concern these days, so I’m a little agitated that she’s not rubbing around the kitchen while I get a cup and some half-n-half (which would have been the ideal cat/human scenario). After coaxing her (annoyed instead of stoic, uncomplaining, n accepting of what I can’t change) out from under the bed, I gentled her down the stairs and tossed her out the back door..were she sank below the snowline. Halfway through the arc of descent..I’m thinking, “You dick!”

But the sun was coming up over the skeleton woods and she speaks no language that can curse, so I put on my boots and took her and some food out to the garage and tucked her in all warm and comfy. She’s a cute little serial killer.

This one could go to the Saints. After all, they with the predominance of ticket holders, it is like a Saints home game. And they can be brutal on a QB, …even if he is Batman. I’m just glad it’s these two teams. Should be more fun than the ads.

Fade-to-black firing off in the mind

Like an iris-out oscillating on a loop

More essential than objection
