I'm not sure it's paradise, but you're right - it's pretty special. Alyssa and I went for a walk after dinner - the sky was streaked with pink and orange, the cows were content and apart from the flies, it was fantastic. This afternoon we had a long-necked tortoise trooping across the back lawn en route to the dam. We shooed it in the right direction - ever heard the expression "like herding cats"? Well I think tortoises are on par with cats - funny creatures! The rest of the day has been less than brilliant - both John and Karina have a gastro bug and have been in a bad way. Alyssa and I are crossing our fingers that we don't get it.
