just started training with a fellow named Roy Elghanayan... i've dabbled with a variety of martial arts over the years, but this one... holy cow. These guys definitely do not screw around. Just watched the level 2 test yesterday... there are four levels. The first half was sort of stuff I'd experienced before... albeit at a higher pitch and faster pace, and with none of the usual civilised stuff that you'd find in judo or aikido testing... but then each testee is relentlessly assaulted by 9 or ten of the other students, and I mean relentlessly. I've never seen anything quite like it. The only guy I saw who emerged from the melee with anything close to his composure intact is also a 2nd Dan Karate black belt. Roy is one of the top three hand to hand combat instructors for the Israeli special forces, and takes his work very seriously. My level 2 test is in about four months, and I've got to admit the prospect freaks me out a bit.

here's Roy doing demonstrations for the Israeli army.
